In the never ending search for only natural products we found Lisa Ann Skincare, a company that makes body lotions, scrubs, body butter (with shea butter), lip balms, facial oils and creams with ingredients that you actually understand, enjoy!

Tell us a little bit about the background/story of Lisa Ann Skincare.
I studied consumer affairs in college which was a combination of consumer awareness issues combined with business classes. Ever since then (quite a few years ago) I have been an avid label reader and have always been concerned with ingredients in products and how they affect us. I have never understood or agreed with why there are so many synthetics in our skin care products and foods. After spending some years in publishing and packaging I decided it was time to put my love for creating "as natural as possible" skin and body care products skills to good use.

What did you want to be when you were a kid?
I wanted to be a professional tennis player like Chris Evert (my childhood idol).?

What are some things we need to watch out for in conventional skin products out there?
In general I look for products that do not have a long list of mainly synthetic ingredients. I stay away from paraben preservatives and petrochemicals.

What's the biggest lesson you learned while starting your line?
I underestimated how many hats I would need to wear to run this business. Not that I mind but I probably should have outsourced more tasks earlier on (like website design etc). ?

What's the one thing you'd wish for if you had a magic wand?
I’d wave it hard so that all diseases would disappear from humanity and there would be no more pain and suffering.

If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would it be?
I love being home with my family but right now I would love to be on a beach in Martha’s Vineyard with my family and friends on a perfect Summer day.

Describe a typical day in your life.
I wake up at 6:00 am and get my two teenage boys out the door for school, then I’m on my laptop catching up on emails, social media etc. Most of the day is spent making products and balancing that with sourcing ingredients and various other tasks. Lately I’ve made it a personal goal to take a brisk walk with my chocolate lab at our nearby state park daily so I’ve been trying to squeeze that in either before or after dinner.?

What are your top 3 best sellers?
The Pomegranate Body Lotion, Pomegranate Body Scrub and the Lemon Body Lotion.

If you had to choose... lipstick or lip balm?
I don’t like having chapped lips and consistently apply my lip balm throughout the day so definitely lip balm. I do love a good lip gloss though for color but could live without it.?

If there is one thing/thought/idea that you could pass on to the next generation, what would it be?
Eat healthy (meaning limiting processed food), exercise and be generous to others (family and community).?

If we could only live with one ingredient to take care of our skin, what would you recommend?
Without a doubt it’s unrefined shea butter. Shea butter is so flexible and can be used for a multitude of purposes. Besides being a moisturizer it can help heal wounds, burns, rashes, and can be applied from head to toe. ??
