Software Engineer - Front-End
Ecobold is building a market place for green products. We're seeking experienced, professional and creative front-end designers/developers who has 15-20 hrs/week to help us with a variety of projects, including web pages, landing pages, email, and print collateral. You will be creating designs for both consumer and business audiences. Ecobold is a pre-funded startup, therefore this is an equity-only position until we receive Series A financing.
Required:

  • Use the latest tools to build great desktop and mobile web pages
  • Know XHTML, CSS3, JavaScript, and AJAX in and out
  • Adept with web standards and cross-browser development
  • Author clean, standards-compliant code
  • Have an eye for good design
  • Use tools like git for revision control
  • Use agile methods like TDD, pair programming, and continuous deployment

Desired:

  • jQuery, Adobe Illustrator/Fireworks, or comparable graphic design software

Software Engineer - Back-End
Ecobold is building a market place for green products. We're seeking experienced, professional senior ruby on rails developer who has 15-20 hrs/week to help us with a variety of projects including but not limited to improve performance, add features, debug and develop fixes for our server, web. Ecobold is a pre-funded startup, therefore this is an equity-only position until we receive Series A financing.

Required:

  • B.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent experience Are comfortable working with Ruby on Rails
  • Minimum 2+ years experience developing web applications using Ruby on Rails
  • Strong understanding of web application architecture in an agile environment 
  • Solid communication skills (making good design decisions and helping spread great ideas)
  • Fundamental understanding of programming languages such as Ruby, Python or Java
  • Knowledge of and experience working with relational databases
  • Unix and Linux proficiency

Desired:

  • Web development with Ruby on Rails
  • Experience profiling and tuning all the way down to the database
  • If you’re building anything interesting outside of work/school, we’d like to see it
  • Links to web apps, git repos, portfolios, are greatly appreciated
  • Previous experience at a startup
